The general public knows astronauts receive state-of-the-art physical training to go into
space, but we never hear specifically of what astronauts experiences in the way of physical symptoms?
What about things such as nausea, vision problems, disorientation, headaches, imbalance, and the like?
I do not know how physical conditioning plays into either ameliorating or even increasing those
symptoms to adapting to space. Almost everyone has to do some adaptation. We have been created
and evolved here on Earth, with gravitational forces and other parts of our environment that
have actually helped to design us -- we may not have been just dropped here. This environment
has helped to design us and now we are in a brand new environment. How physical conditioning
effects are adaptation in space, I do not know
We do not have a formal physical training program. We are monitored periodically on how successful
we are in physical fitness, but there is no formal program. Each astronaut maintains their own
fitness in the ways they feel most comfortable with
