As a result of your mission, what psychological, physiological, or physical changes did you go through?

On every mission, we have to adapt to space and we have to re-adapt to Earth, including gravity. So there are physiological changes which are quite well known. And of course the physical changes, such as zero gravity, is one of the principal things that cause those changes

I think psychologically and philosophically, some of the important things are, as an individual, to bring the experience back and give it to other people. To describe what humanity in general experiences, the change in your view of the universe. You look at the universe, both Earth and the stars from a new vantage point. You have huge horizons, like during the Hubble Repair mission, we were not yet to the west coast of Australia and we were seeing the entire continent and the Great Barrier Reef from two or three thousand miles away. Also, when looking down at the launch sites in Florida, I was able to look to the north, thousands of miles away, and see auroras over the North Pole

So, it is a new way for humanity to look at the Universe, of which we are only a small part. I think the most important things we get from these experiences are new ideas, evolving views of the Universe, and what our place is in that Universe
